"I can't balance!"

Do you say to yourself "I can't balance"?  You're not alone!  But how often do you practice balancing?

Do you know how to help yourself balance?  That your sense of balance can vary dramatically from day to day? That your mind has a huge part to play in how well you can balance?

And do you think that wobbling means you can't balance?

I want to show you that everyone can balance (yes even you!).  Practising this skill leads to more stability in your yoga practice and your everyday life, which could save you from potentially damaging accidents!

But that's not all!  The benefits of balance go way beyond the physical.

Practising balance develops your focus and concentration, on and off the yoga mat.

It can help you cope with the real life wobbles that we all face.  The unsteadiness of balancing positions in yoga reflects the uncertainty and constant changes in our everyday lives, giving you the opportunity to practise stepping into your fears in a safe space - being scared and doing it anyway!

Each time you wobble or fall out of a position, you'll learn something new about yourself, and adapt your approach so next time it's not so scary.  And next time you're faced with a real life challenge, you might have the courage to face it head on, and be able to navigate it more easily - working through the wobbles!

Develop balance & focus

  • Learn the key skills to help you balance no matter how wobbly or uncoordinated you are!

  • Discover how your mind can affect your balance, and use this to your advantage

  • Learn how to adapt balancing poses to suit you, so you can build your confidence gradually - did you know you can practice balancing with both feet on the floor?

  • Learn some simple techniques to turn any yoga pose into a balance challenge (if you want to!)

  • Develop your concentration through balance, to help you find a more meditative state in your yoga practice, and greater focus in your day to day life

  • Build your resilience to life's challenges - practise being brave on the mat, so you have more confidence to face your fears off the mat!

  • Share this journey with a friendly community who face similar challenges

  • Receive personal support in a small group where you can ask me questions and discuss any challenges

What will you learn?

In this five week journey I'll introduce you to a different set of tools each week to help practice your balancing skills:

Week 1: Foundations & Alignment

How to position your body for greater stability

Week 2: Gaze & Focus

How to use your eyes to stay steady and focused

Week 3: Inner strength

How to use your strength and imagination to balance

Week 4: Power of the mind

How stillness in your mind leads to stillness in your body

Week 5: Let's play with balance!

How to make any yoga pose more of a balance challenge

Each week we will also explore how what we learn, can be used to help navigate our everyday lives.

I'd love to join you BUT...

"I don't have time and can't make it to your classes"

You know you’re more productive when you're happy and relaxed.  You know you’re better at looking after others when you look after yourself first.  But work or family commitments still stop you from giving yourself an hour of ‘me time’.

What would you say to a friend who told you they couldn’t afford to spend one hour a week taking care of their mind and body?  You’d probably tell them that they deserve it and to ‘make the time’!

Is there anything you could do differently to create this essential space for yourself?

If you feel you don’t have time for yoga, this is when you need it most!

"I can't afford it"

I’ve lost count of the times I gave someone a free class, and they didn’t show up.  Or I sent them a free class recording, and they never watched it.

I now know that one of the most important things I can do is to ask you to pay for a term of classes.  Because when you pay for it, you commit to actually doing it!  No excuses.  Unless there’s a really good reason you’ll be there every single week taking care of your mind and body.  And I know my students find yoga so much easier and more satisfying when they come to a weekly class.

If you find it hard to justify spending this money on yourself, think of it as an investment in your wellbeing.  There aren’t many things you can buy for £12 a week*, that make you feel amazing for a whole hour AND give you a boost for the rest of the week!  And I guarantee that the people around you will notice and feel the benefits as well!

You really are worth every penny.

*If you genuinely can't afford this investment, I offer community supported pricing to make my classes more accessible for those in financial hardship.

"I can't do yoga"

Is there a little voice in your head still telling you that you can’t do yoga?  That you’re not fit enough, flexible enough, good enough?

My classes are designed for people just like you, and are full of students just like you.  Beginners.  People with injuries and movement challenges.  Those with bigger bodies and inflexible bodies.  (Check out what they say about my classes below)

We go slowly so no one is left behind, and I give lots of options so you can choose the ones that work best for you.

Please don’t wait until you feel ready as that day might never come.

Come along and I’ll show you that you can do yoga!

How have my classes helped my students?

I absolutely love Anna Banana Yoga!

Being new to yoga, Anna explains every position so well that you don’t need to watch her and I could feel the benefits after the first session.  Her gentle approach is really encouraging and after just a couple of sessions I booked up for the term!

I feel so much more flexible and supple.

I'd just like to say how much Anna has helped me.  All movements are explained with various alternatives so that they are achievable without straining any injury or discomfort, making you feel confident in the poses.

Her gentle tone and encouraging way have helped enormously in building confidence in my yoga.  She's helped me get back on form after my back injury.

I can't recommend Yoga with Anna enough.

I've been to multiple classes where I felt inadequate, embarrassed and self-conscious especially with the injuries I had.

Anna made me feel relaxed and comfortable immediately and I love that she gives me alternatives for poses without putting me on the spot.

How much to find balance?

Here's what you'll get when you join Work through the Wobbles today:

  • 5 x 1 hour 15 min yoga classes to learn the key skills to help you balance and focus

  • A spacious venue in a central location with free parking

  • Option to join an alternative class (same week or different week) or receive a class recording if you miss a class

  • Personal support, guidance and encouragement from me

  • A friendly community of yoga students

All this for:

  • £12 per session - Standard price

  • £14 per session - Supporter price - give back to your community

  • £10 per session - Community price - experiencing financial hardship

Community Supported pricing makes my yoga classes more accessible if you're experiencing financial hardship, and enables those with greater financial resources the opportunity to give back to your yoga community.

Click here for more information and guidance on choosing the price that suits your circumstances.

Do I have to commit to a whole term?

My students experience much greater changes to their mind and body, and find their yoga practice more satisfying, when they commit to a regular practice and complete the full term theme.  That's why I ask you to book a term in advance.  Term bookings also enable me to make the most of the limited spaces I have available in each class.
