Are you existing rather than living?
I get it.
The past 18 months living through lockdown has taken it's toll, and it feels like a struggle just to keep going. There's too much to do and not enough time to do it all. You feel drained physically and mentally, and even after a good night's sleep you don't feel refreshed.
Your mind is full of regrets about the past, worries about the future, and self-critical thoughts like 'What's wrong with me?', 'My life is a mess', 'Why can't I cope?'
A moment of sadness, frustration or anxiety can trigger more gloomy thoughts, and soon you're in a bad mood for the rest of the day or week!
You feel so out of touch with yourself. You don't know where you're heading and you can't remember the last time you felt joy in your life.
You've heard that mindfulness can improve your mood, happiness and wellbeing, and have thought about giving it a try...
How can you possibly sit still to be mindful when your mind is so busy?
Let me share a secret with you...
You don't have to sit still!
I know that almost every picture you've seen of mindfulness and meditation includes a super chilled out person sitting cross legged, but there are SO many ways to do mindfulness and using movement is one of the best ways to get started.
I'm here to show you how easy mindfulness can be when you combine it with some gentle yoga, and to teach you the tips and tricks that will help keep your mind from spinning when you are sitting still.
And then I'll help you to bring this mindfulness into your everyday life - and that's where the REAL magic happens!
Mindfulness can change your life
Learn how to use mindful yoga to let go of stress, anxiety, depression and irritability and achieve a calmer, more peaceful state of mind
Try at least 10 different mindfulness exercises, so you can discover which work best for you
Learn how to catch negative thought patterns before they tip you into a downward spiral
Take what you've learnt off the mat and experience the magic of mindfulness in your everyday life
Observe the positive changes to your mood, happiness and wellbeing over the course of the term
Finish the term with a 'mindfulness toolbox' that you can turn to any time you feel negativity taking over, so you can start to get back in control of your life
Share this mindfulness journey with a friendly community who face the same challenges
Receive personal support in this small group where you can ask me questions and discuss any challenges
What will you learn?
In this six week journey I'll introduce you to mindfulness, step by step, with the opportunity to try a different type of mindfulness each week:
Week 1: Wake up to your thoughts
Week 2: Become aware of your body
Week 3: How to move mindfully
Week 4: What sounds can teach us about thoughts
Week 5: Explore and accept difficulties
Week 6: Be kind to yourself
Can't wait to get started?
I'm still not sure if this is for me...
Maybe it's not. You might be one of the lucky ones who is already living in peaceful bliss!
Or maybe you're so caught up in your thoughts and so busy 'doing' that it's hard to see what you really need.
If you think this might be you, ask yourself these questions:
Do you find it difficult to stay focused on what's happening in the present?
Do you tend to walk quickly to where you're going without paying attention to what you experience along the way?
Does it seem like you're running on automatic without much awareness of what you're doing?
Do you rush through activities without paying attention to them?
Do you get so focused on the goal you want to achieve that you lose touch with what you're doing right now to get there?
Do you find yourself preoccupied with the future or the past?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, Mindfulness Made Easy can definitely help you!
So now you know you DO need more mindfulness in your life, what are you waiting for?
How have my classes helped my students be more mindful?
I really enjoy the mindful focus you have, which I haven’t experienced in other classes and I like that you have a theme for the term.
You always have a lovely kind and compassionate tone, and I really look forward to the lesson each week as a highlight.
Anna's classes are unique.
She challenges our minds, as well as our bodies, creating a soulful experience.
Anna's yoga classes are like nothing I have ever experienced before.
Her voice is angelic and leaves me feeling incredibly 'zen' and relaxed after each and every class. She always makes you feel amazing in every pose and supports you along the way.
Everyone needs to experience Anna Banana Yoga!!
